Write Essay question type in the Writing section of PTE Academic tests your ability to understand a given topic and write a persuasive or argumentative essay on it. This is a test of your Writing skills.
You will have 20 minutes to write your essay on the given topic. It is important to understand the topic but equally important to understand what you have been asked to do. They might ask you to compare two sides of an argument or simply ask your views on a topic.
Your essay should be between 200 and 300 words. If you write less than 120 or more than 380 words you will receive a score of zero. It is best to write around 250 to 280 words.
Use your 20 minutes wisely. Spend the first few minutes understanding the topic, the next few minutes coming up with ideas and writing them on the screen or the rough notepad and then start connecting those ideas. Make sure you structure the Essay properly into Introduction, idea paragraphs and a Conclusion.
